- Generally a productive day. I've been knocking down bugs and figuring out
ways of getting text from our program to the translators.
- I tried to fix the metacity compositor
segfault bug, but with no joy yet. The stacker is being unreffed more times
than it's reffed, which causes the deferencing of freed memory; I know this, but
I'm still trying to find out how it should be.
- I was walking through Thirteenth Street when a woman passed me and asked for
money: "Spare a quarter, sis," she said. Clearly I'm doing something right with
this cleanshaven thing.
- I was making a cake, but I ran out of margarine. I went to the shop, and
they had no margarine either. I bought some butter, but it was more expensive.
The receipt said "LOL BUTTER". I couldn't see what was so funny about it.
- Firinel is a wonderful person to share my life with. I am blessed every
day.
- Carmen's Place is a homeless
shelter for queer, especially transsexual, youth in New York City. It's hard
enough not having somewhere to sleep, without having the crap beaten out of you
when you go to a shelter because you don't fit society's gender
expectations. Anyway, the Episcopal priest who founded the place has
apparently been told
by his diocese to close his church because its congregation is too small. He
and they are urgently looking for a new home for Carmen's Place. If you can help with time, space,
money or prayer, please help.
