I worked on the SEIU stuff today, pairing with Alec, and together we got a whole lot done.
At St Mark's, the Priest Who Hugs Everyone told us a bit about William White, whose feast day it is. It seems the church was just as much divided in those days over many things. The PWHE told us (there was quite a crowd for a lunchtime service, more than half a dozen) that because it was so hot, on our way back we should take care as we walk... in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. And so it segued back into the liturgy.
Someone on our diocesan mailing list mentioned a church in Dallas called St Thomas the Apostle. I was interested in what they said, so I looked them up online, and they have the wonderful domain thedoubter.org ("Our patron, Thomas the Apostle, is also known as Thomas the Doubter... Christ did not rebuke Thomas for his questions and skepticism... the parish tries to engage questions, doubts and skepticism faithfully.") How cool is that? If I'm ever in Dallas I'll try to pay them a visit. They also have a rather nifty item-by-item description of the order of service for those who are visiting and unfamiliar with formal, liturgical worship; I think explanations of why we do the apparently weird things we do ought to be more common. So, good for them.
I'm trying to compile gnome-control-center so that I can write a patch for it, but things keep breaking along the way. Currently, for example, hal is requiring some library called libvolume_id, with no clue as to where to get it. jhbuild is none the wiser as to what to do.
Wikipedia seems to think that making a typed alphabetical card catalogue of all your books and stuff in your room as a kid is something high-functioning autistic people do. I thought maybe everyone did that. The nonfiction section of mine was actually in Dewey order for a while.
No pizza this Monday, since Sharon was making halpukis and brought a bunch over for us. I don't like them, so I ate fishsticks instead, and I burned the top of the inside of my mouth on them. It hurts quite a lot.
Floatyfish was here with Firinel and together they went out and got me some stuff, and I am very touched.
