King on wheels
Very early in the morning on Friday we went to
Philadelphia bus
station to pick up our beloved
Moominmuppet! Then, since
it was so early, we all went home and fell asleep. We woke up somewhere around
lunchtime, and went out to a pizza place called Parma Pizza for lunch. Then we
came back and played Pictionary.

In the evening
Riordon went
off to
Smreigner's house
to sleep over and get ready for Junior Dealer Weekend at
Shupp's Grove (a sort of
huge flea-market in
a forest). The rest of us went to
the fire brigade's fair where we
played silly games.
In the morning,
Floatyfish and
Onib turned up and drove us about
a hundred miles to
Gunnison Beach in
New Jersey (we were worried it would be closed, what with the NJ government
lockout, but it's actually a federal beach). We sat on
the beach and looked at shells
and things, and I read more of the Mabinogion (it was the part about Teyrnon and
the foal). One naked person was happily making a walled space zie called a
"sanctuary" out of twigs and shells, and zie gave
Firinel a coconut. I might
post photos of us at the beach later (but they may be NSFW).
When we returned to Pennsylvania we were just in time for the fireworks, after
which we all walked around the fair again together and ate
funnel cake. We went home,
showered, and fell asleep. At some awfully early hour the next morning
Smreigner drove us back to
Philly bus station where we bid goodbye to
Moominmuppet (zie's home
safely now). I'm now missing zir very much :( I hope we all see one another
again very soon.
Today we went up to Shupp's Grove to see
Riordon. Her stand has a sign
which says "
RIORDON'S STAND - if you see anything you licke ask and we can
deal (exsept the doler or less)" I looked around the area and found a set of
flashcards from the sixties designed to teach binary in schools ("Makes The
NEW COMPUTER MATH More Easily Understood"!) It's just like
this
one, though I bought it for 50¢.
In hacking news, I have realised that the alt-f6 keystroke I added to Metacity
should have been a window binding and not a screen binding. This means that
switching from alt-Tab to alt-f6 in midstream should be possible. Unfortunately
when I've tried changing it it breaks alt-Tab switching entirely; next job is to
find out why.
